Common Questions

Is my data sent to any server during anonymization?

No. CSV Converter processes everything 100% offline inside your browser. Your data never leaves your computer. We don't have access to your files, and no network requests are made during the anonymization process.

What's the difference between TRIAL, BETA, and LICENSED plans?

TRIAL allows up to 100 rows per CSV with no time limit. BETA provides unlimited rows until March 31, 2026 (free). LICENSED offers permanent unlimited access with hardware-bound activation (available starting January 2026).

Can I anonymize the same file multiple times with consistent results?

Yes. Our hash-based strategy generates deterministic pseudonyms, meaning the same input value always produces the same replacement. This preserves referential integrity across multiple files and ensures analytics accuracy.

What happens if I lose my dictionary file?

Without the dictionary, you cannot restore the original values. Always back up your dictionary files securely. Treat them like encryption keys—store them separately from anonymized data.

How does the license activation work?

Licenses are bound to your PC's hardware fingerprint. After requesting a license on our website, you'll receive a unique activation code via email. Enter this code in the extension to unlock unlimited processing. Each code works only on the registered computer.

Which anonymization strategy should I use?

Use **hashes** for maximum security and deterministic consistency. Use **counters** for simple sequential IDs (ANON_0001, ANON_0002...). Use **names** when you need human-readable aliases (e.g., 'Ana García', 'Juan López') for easier readability.

Is CSV Converter GDPR and HIPAA compliant?

CSV Converter is a tool that helps you achieve compliance by anonymizing personal data before sharing it externally. Since all processing happens offline and locally, no data breaches or unauthorized access can occur through our software. However, you remain responsible for your overall compliance program.

Can I use this for large CSV files with millions of rows?

In TRIAL mode, you're limited to 100 rows. BETA and LICENSED plans support unlimited rows. Processing speed depends on your browser's performance. For files with millions of rows, consider splitting them into batches for better performance.

What file formats are supported?

Currently, CSV Converter supports standard CSV files with common delimiters (comma, semicolon, tab). Excel files (.xlsx) are not supported yet but planned for future releases. Export your Excel files as CSV first.

How do I get support if I have issues?

BETA and LICENSED users receive email support. Contact us at support@pixelsolution.es with your PC ID and a description of the issue. TRIAL users can report bugs through our GitHub repository or upgrade to BETA for direct support.
